Entry Details JOB TITLE City Clerk-Treasurer ORGANIZATION City of Chesnee CATEGORY Administration EMPLOYEE STATUS Full time POSITION HOURS 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with some on nights and weekends DESCRIPTION 1 OF 3 Under the supervision of the City Administrator, the clerk-treasurer performs the financial duties of the town including payroll, accounting, retirement system reporting, accounts receivable, deposits, account balancing, bank reconciliations, and compiling information for the auditor for the city’s annual audit. DESCRIPTION 2 OF 3 Performs administrative duties including issuing business licenses, assisting with the drafting of ordinances, resolutions, meeting agendas, contracts, easements, deeds, bonds and other documents requiring city certification, acts as custodian of city records, maintains filing system for public records, and prepares minutes for public meetings. DESCRIPTION 3 OF 3 Performs tasks related to the city’s sewer utility including preparing bimonthly utility bills, entering data for new customers, entering water usage, calculating bills, mailing bills to customers, and preparing the monthly cutoff list. QUALIFICATION 1 OF 3 Candidate must have an associate’s degree in business management, accounting, records management, or a closely related field, and two (2) years of related experience; or any equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience. QUALIFICATION 2 OF 3 Candidate must be bondable. QUALIFICATION 3 OF 3 Candidate must possess a valid state driver’s license or be able to obtain one.
